FMMI win more work in eastern Europe

March 2008, London

The Georgian Football Federation (GFF) has commissioned FMMI to draw-up a strategic blueprint to improve professional football in the country. The scope of the work is diverse ranging from the improving the national championships to advising on stadia developments. (This follows on from a joint UEFA/GFF project that FMMI undertook last summer).

Neil Eaves, Director of FMMI said, "This work will provide a road map for the future development of the game and form the foundations to improve the commercial value of football in Georgia. What's more, there is much that will be learnt here that would benefit other leagues looking to professionalise and commercialise their properties."

Corinthians join Superleague Formula

February 2008, São Paulo, Brazil

São Paulo giants Corinthians will join Rio rivals Flamengo in the inaugural season of Superleague Formula after becoming the latest club to join the new series. In a deal facilitated by FMMInternational, the club will also compete with European clubs AC Milan, Olympiacos, FC Porto, PSV Eindhoven, Borussia Dortmund, RSC Anderlecht, FC Basel and Sevilla FC.

With São Paulo also the home of the internationally renowned Interlagos circuit, the combination of football and motorsport is an ideal mix for the São Paulo market. FMMI's Dan Fletcher said, "We are pleased to have helped Superleague Formula secure the participation of Corinthians in the championship and will continue to work with them in South America and other markets around the world."
