FMMI push into new markets

20 June 2007, Nyon, Switzerland

FMMI are working for UEFA and the Georgian Football Federation to identify and address the key issues facing the game in Georgia.

Alex Phillips, Head of Professional Football Services at UEFA said, "Football is extremely popular in Georgia but is facing a number of challenges as it looks to become more attractive to Georgian football fans and commercially viable. FMMI's work will help the Georgian Federation establish the groundwork for a sustainable football industry in the country".

Ucha Ugulava, General Secretary of the Georgian Football Federation said "FMMI are helping us identify and implement changes that will lead to a lasting benefit for the game in Georgia."

Neil Eaves of FMMI added, "We feel we can make a significant difference to the game in Georgia. The challenges faced by Georgia are common with many other UEFA members and this project will serve as a blueprint for those associations."
